The weather turned perfect for our jaunt along this trail.
Absolute gold. Fun mountain biking, great views and scenery,
and we didn't have to tow the trailers!

A lazy 30km ride out of a dodgy caravan park - were we glad to see this! Welcome to Picton.

Waikawa - a beautiful bay just out of Picton

Camped at a great little spot in Waikawa - get Nic into making dinner!

Nic's getting pretty excited - just about to head off on the boat.

Getting ready to roll out.

Just arrived in Picton, bit of hill training for Nic

On the boat, looking back to Picton - getting ready for the trail

What can I say? - Queen Charlotte Sound is magnificent.

After all th climbing, the decents were magic!

Hitting a puddle or crossing a bridge - always focussed.

Working our way up some steep climbs.

Hands of the brakes!!!! Fast.

Wine, cheese, dips and spreads. Luxury.

Riding through the trees is superb.

Negotiated a tough part, and now feeling decidedly pleased with herself.

End of the trail. It was BOBs back on and ride to Haveloch. In the rain.

And it's not slop

First night - camped right here.

Rattling down hill on day 2

One of many bays in Queen Charlotte Sound

Don't want to get this edge wrong

Day two, got to the top of the climb onto the plains.

Picton harbour panorama - great view from up high!

Finally at the top of the first climb of the day.

A little bit of luxury seems to follow whenever we "rough it". Portage Resort.

About to set out on our first big journey.

A quiet time on the Queen Charlotte

These bridges look solid, but sound like a jar of pennies when you hit them.

Landed at Ship Cove - Nic's happy - she hasn't seen the first hill

Pete "birdman of Belgrave" feeding the ducks. Or whatever the Kiwi's call the funny little waddling birds.

Lots of switchbacks on day 2

A long, very cool, awesome tree tunnel to ride though. Pete wanted to go back and ride it again.

On the last day of the trail - slugging it out in pouring rain, this hill just got too much for Nic and Bob.

Having dropped off the first climb a bit, this opened out. Spectacular
